Few years before my beautiful village was very green, calm with a pleasurable climate. But I fear, I couldn’t witness the same splendor again. As an ingredient of development, we have got good roads everywhere, new houses, shops and lot more. We have advanced a lot, change is seen everywhere. People have cut down many trees to plant their buildings there. Most inhabitants believe that buildings give more money than trees. People of this generation don’t even know that trees have life and its needed to balance our environment. Seeing a tree, reminds them of the money they will get on selling it. People no more need a petty income from agriculture. Everyone earns a lot, and money makes them say that they can buy anything in the world.

I wonder if every one thinks so, who will cultivate our food grains. Where will we get food? Are we going to eat money? For constructing building, we have destroyed many rocks and small hills. Without trees and hill barriers, how will we get showers? Farmers toil a lot to grow crops, but what do they get in return?
Land is one of God’s priceless creation which we can’t create. We have to use the existing land in a wise manner so our future generations too could utilize it. As sea level is rising, our available land is shrinking day by day. Arable land obtainable is dreadfully diminutive. We are destroying that too. We are tearing down the future of yet to bud younger generations.
Buying 100 mangoes from a supermarket doesn’t give any contentment. Eating a ripe mango from our own garden is something grand. We definitely need a place to live, why not try to make your place green? Planting a sapling and watering it doesn’t need your hard work, it just needs some time and kindness. Treat your plants as your friends. Make every moment of your life happy and useful.
