JK TYRE DUCHESS ALL WOMEN’S CAR RALLY TO BE FLAGGED OF ON JULY 15, 2012
~ JK Tyre & Duchess Club of Chennai come together to promote the cause of ‘Save the Girl Child’~
~More than 100 women drivers expected to participate in the rally~
The city’s only women’s car rally is back! The prestigious JK Tyre Duchess All Women’s Car Rally 2012 is all set to be flagged off by upcoming actress Dhansika and JK Prodigy Arman Ebrahim, at Chennai’s Savera Hotel on July 15, 2012. Organised by JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. and run by the Duchess Club and, the rally provides women an exciting opportunity to display their driving skills and at the same time promote a social cause.
Currently in its 11th successful successive year, the championship promises endless action and countless memorable moments for participants of different ages and from various walks of life. More than 100 cars – all driven by women – and will run on the time / distance / speed (TSD format) and will cover about 80 to 90 kilometres. Each participant will receive 5 litres of free fuel while top drivers stand to win grand prizes.
Like every year, apart from being a motorsport-based competition, the rally will focus on spreading the word about a significant issue that faces society. The theme for the 2012 rally will be “Save the Girl Child”, and participants will look at spreading the word about the raising concern of female foeticide apart from giving prominence to road safety.

The women drivers will be seen participating across different categories – Expert, Regular, Novice, and Duchess. The event is open to cars of all engine capacities and categories including jeeps and diesel cars. The maximum number of women in each car will be four.
The championship will see exciting action with drivers battling it out for the top spot.
