Day 3 of Kingfisher Premium Chennai International Fashion Week was a Fashion Riot
Day 3 of the Kingfisher Premium Chennai International Fashion Week (Kingfisher Premium CIFW) saw a host of spectacular designs and patterns ranging from street style of the pretty damsels from Tamil Nadu to traditional Kalamkari and Namikari fabrics.
Renowned designers Julie Vergese, Shravan Kumar, Riyaz Ganji swept the on lookers with their intriguing styles, cuts and silhouettes.
The opening show by Julie Vergese saw some exceptional designs and set the mood right for the evening. The collection ‘An Engagement with Love’ draws inspiration from the street style of the pretty damsels from Tamil Nadu. The dawani pavadai is taken off the streets and presented in a glamorous avatar. The village belle became the nymph like child woman on a rendezvous with her secret lover. The collection was an ode to light as the colors are taken from the fresh fields of the village seen in the morning light, the silhouettes are flowery, ethereal and essentially drapes which form into skirts, gowns and sarees.
Hyderabad’s celebrated designer, Shravan Kumar excels in dealing with South Indian Textiles and is immensely involved in creating couture collections out of traditional Kalamkari and Namikari fabrics. He also is the most sought after designer for Bridal and “Resort Wedding wear”. His garments are fashionable, trendy and hold the “Ramp to Road” appeal.
Renowned designer Riyaz Ganji showcased his unique designs with Sneha & Prassana as showstoppers.
Commenting on the occasion, Gurpreet Singh, General Manager, Marketing, United Breweries Limited said, “Kingfisher Premium Chennai International Fashion Week has effectively reached out to the fashion aficionados of Chennai and in doing so reinforces Good Times experience that Kingfisher Premium stands for.
