Aadi Krithigai is a day auspicious for Lord Muruga and this year it is celebrated on Friday, 10th August 2012. Aadi Krithigai is an energizing occasion to rebuild your positive energy. It is an auspicious day to worship Lord Muruga and receive his blessings. Legend has it that Lord Muruga or Skanda was born as six different babies and it was Goddess Parvati who joined the Six to create the powerful Muruga or Kartik, who is the commander of the army of the Devas. But before conjoining the six different babies were looked after six mothers – the six Karthigai stars/Karthigai Pengal.
Gnanaguru Dr. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal has depicted Lord Murugar here as Karthigeya Kumaran and installed 4-foot stone idol at Danvantri Peedam, Walajapet sculpted by Sri Loganathan Sthapathy of Mahabalipuram. He has been included to show the world that one ought not to differentiate between the biological mother and a foster mother. The six kannis who took care of Lord Murugar are placed at the base of the pedestal. They are depicting showing the child objects that mothers show children when feeding them, such as the SUN, the MOON, the LOTUS, the PEACOCK, the JAVELIN and the MILK BOWL used to feed the child.
Praying to Lord Muruga helps deal with the issues that arise with regard to an adopted child. The psychological ailments that stem from the yearning felt at the absence of a child or a mother, are also addressed here.
Gnanaguru Dr. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal has made arrangement for Panchamirtha (Mixture of Fruits, Honey, Ghee, Milk, Curd, etc) Abishekam and Vibhoothi (Holy Ash) Abishekam which is very special to Lord Karthigai Kumaran and is liked by him very much, followed by Alangaram, Aradhanai, Archanai, Homam, Mass prayer, etc.
Swamigal will be allowing the visitors directly to perform Vibhoothi Abishekam to Lord Karthigai Kumaran which will help in getting the ailments cured and gain
